He Shoots… He Scores… What Canadian youngster doesn't dream of becoming a hockey legend? With thousands of parents and volunteer coaches helping to fulfill the dreams Canada's young the Canadian Hockey Association in conjunction with Nike developed the NIKE Skills Development Coaching Manuals

Each coaching manual comes complete with lesson plans, goals and objectives. The lesson plans provide the coach with a fun and progressive approach to teaching fundamental two-dimensional paper based guide for what is undisputedly a very dynamic and three-dimensional sport.

As a proof of concept the team at Digital Interactive developed a conceptual prototype building on to the base Manual. Not wanting to forgo the paper version the team proceeded by creating “value added” to an already strong base. By adding video footage, animating drill practices, and providing an audio overview of each lesson plan we were able to enhance the overall package by providing assisted learning to the integrity of the original document. Needless to say the entire project team re-kindled their dreams in some small way during the development of this project.
